This accolade demonstrates SEACOM’s contribution to the cloud computing industry in East Africa.

The 16th edition of the annual event took place from 20 to 22 November at the Enashipai Hotel and Resort in Naivasha, Kenya. A celebration of excellence in IT leadership, the event honours 100 award recipients and highlights their achievements in leadership, innovation, and the adoption of advanced technologies. The Cloud Service Provider of the Year Award signifies SEACOM’s transformation from a pure connectivity provider into a fully-fledged digital services business partner. The company has expanded its portfolio to include cloud solutions, smart networking, cybersecurity, and managed services, all of which complement and enhance its core connectivity offerings.

“The key to success has been adopting a customer-first approach, one that focuses on cloud optimisation and supports businesses to embrace the technology while helping them understand the full value of our solutions. Our vendor-agnostic stance ensures we always put the needs of customers first, and with our cloud optimisation strategy, we enhance our consulting capabilities with trust and credibility,” Khan explained.

When it comes to its achievements and contributions in Africa’s cloud computing industry, SEACOM has:

  • forged strategic partnerships with leading cloud service providers
  • trained and certified its staff, entrenching cloud computing expertise throughout our organisation
  • optimised existing infrastructure to extract new value
  • enabled the use of licensed features previously underutilised by businesses
  • expanded the adoption of cloud computing through integrated security and backup solutions.

In addition to winning Cloud Service Provider of the Year, SEACOM was also a finalist for the prestigious Managed Service Provider of the Year. The group’s portfolio of smart networking and managed services solutions enables enterprises to create an efficient and secure networking environment, particularly for organisations with multi-cloud architectures and distributed sites. With this offering, SEACOM enhances IT operations and gives enterprises the means to innovate and excel in new and existing markets.

“To achieve Africa’s full digital potential, we need to take a holistic view in terms of how we enable our businesses and economies with infrastructure and digital products and services. By offering comprehensive, digital services and solutions, we meet the needs of organisations as well as equip them with the resources, tools, and support they need to thrive in a connected future,” Khan concluded.
